The group is aiming to be as flexible as possible, providing a safe, and non-judgemental environment where members can share ideas, learn from each other and try out different formats and styles of writing.

To have some focus for the meetings a very broad topic will be chosen each week and group members are invited to interpret the topic widely by, for example, writing a poem, a short piece of prose, or just a few lines of introduction to a longer story or even an outline plan for a book or play.

A maximum word count of 800 words has been suggested, but it can of course be much less. Members who are prepared to share their work will be welcome to bring it along for discussion at the meetings.
