We are fortunate in Macclesfield in having good access to public transport. This gives us all sorts of interesting options for activities that we can do without using private transport. The idea of this branch of the Out and About group is to show how we don't need to rely on our cars quite as much as many of us do. The group will venture forth using buses, trains (and sometimes trams) for a day out. The activities might be a walk, a visit to somewhere unexpected or even a culinary expedition. These can provide a bargain social day out, especially if you have a bus pass or railcard.

Wednesday 10th June Bury Market by train and bus.

The award-winning market located at the heart of Bury, famed for its black pudding and named in the top 10% of tourist attractions worldwide! Bury Market has over 350 stalls and is a great venue for a day out.
Participants to purchase their own train/bus tickets, (bus passes apply in Manchester). Meet at Macclesfield Station for 9.06am to Manchester, then walk to Piccadilly Gardens (13 mins) for bus to Bury, arrive approx. 10.45am. Return journey TBA. Please email groups@maccu3a.uk to be added to the trip list and to receive further details.
