Welcome to Macclesfield Film Group
Discover the Magic
A u3a member has recently joined the Silkscreen Film Society and is looking to connect with existing Silkscreen Film Society members or anyone interested in signing up. The goal is to attend screenings together and gather for a social discussion afterwards.
The Silkscreen Film Society showcases award-winning world cinema every two weeks from September to March, with two evening showtimes at 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm. Screenings are held at Macclesfield's Old Sunday School (Cinemac).
The line-up for the upcoming 2026–27 season is on the Silkscreen Film Society website. Please note - the evening of short films advertised as being screened on October 28th has been changed to October 21st. There is no film showing on December 21st. You can explore the full programme, watch trailers, or register on the Join Us page on the Silkscreen Film Society website
Membership details:
- Full Season Membership of Silkscreen: £30 (which works out at £2.30 per film for the 13-film season)
- Guest Tickets: £5 per visit (when accompanied by a member)
The group attend the 5.30pm showing and meet beforehand at Coffee#1, 53 Mill Street (on the corner of Exchange Street) SK11 6NE. The post film discussion is at The Button Warehouse, 44-48 Chestergate, SK11 6BA. If you would like to join this Macclesfield u3a members group for a film and a chat, please get in touch with Jacqui by clicking on the group leader link.
