Your membership expires annually on 31 March. Please renew before the end of March - see Note 1 below.

Membership Renewal Process
In mid-February the membership secretary contacts each currently-active member by email (or via post for those without email accounts), reminding members of the upcoming renewal along with:-
- the latest subscription price
- the online bank details
- the personal information that is currently held about them
- if they belong to another u3a
Payment may be made by BACS or for those who don’t do online banking, cheques and cash are also accepted.
Memberships are to be renewed anytime between mid-February and 31th March. (This allows for a completed audit of the treasurer’s account to be available in time for the April Annual General Meeting.)
The current full membership fee is £28* per person per year. If you are a member of another u3a and pay a full member fee to them, you are eligible for Associate Membership in Macclesfield u3a at the reduced rate of £24* per person per year. If you wish to change to being an Associate Member please contact the Membership Secretary
*If you belong to group(s) that incur an annual rental, the membership secretary will provide this information via email; the treasurer appreciates if this can be paid at the same time as your annual subscription.
Notes:
Note 1: Grace Period
Paying before the renewal grace period ends (currently 12 weeks) guarantees ongoing placement in any groups. If not renewed by the end of the grace period, those on any waiting lists will be offered your place.
Note 2: If you have taken a break from your Membership
If you have taken a break with your membership, please do not resume your membership online, but instead contact the Membership Secretary. The exception is if your last active involvement was more than 7 years ago in which case join as a new member.
Want to take a break from the u3a?
Your membership record stays on our system up until 7 consecutive years of inactivity, after which it is deleted. You can renew at anytime during those 7 years with a full annual renewal fee. (Macclesfield u3a does not offer half-year membership to existing members).
If you plan to take a break from the u3a this year, or if you would prefer not to be contacted by Macclesfield u3a again, please contact the Membership Secretary.
