Sub-group Meeting 17th June

Last meeting the Sub-group had an extensive discussion of the issue of copyright material in corpera. This is an article from the iPaper by Chris Stokel-Walker about this issue.

There were 5 members present. This is not enough to make the Scout HQ an effective venue.

We discussed venues, and John will send an email to gather views on a new venue from October's meeting (September's sub-group meeting will be in the Scout HQ, as planned).

We attempted to work on the Glossary. Starting at the top level terms, we got stuck on some big issues: Awareness; Consciousness... We identified that there is no absolute certainty, only certainties expressed within a set of assumptions (often unstated).

We also had a discussion of bias.

For next meeting: "How did Deep Seek achieve so much with less power and lower capability chips?" (Deep Seek is a Chinese GPT). All members to Research and Report...
