Military aviation began at the outbreak of the First World War. In the 111 years since, aircraft have evolved from fragile wood-and-linen biplanes into some of the most advanced weapon systems ever built. Yet from the very beginning, air power has had the ability to shape world events.
Our group meets to explore the development of both the technology and the use of air power during the World Wars and in numerous conflicts since. We also look at the present day and the possible future of military aviation.
We welcome anyone with an interest in this fascinating subject. Just come along or contact the Group Leader, Steve Chaskin. Please click on the leader’s name to access the email contact form. The first session will be on Friday September 26th.
