Sub-group meting 18th November

A Long Read from the Guardian; This article is long, but is highly accessible:

A video of Di Cooke talking about a paper about the Human detection of AI: https://cacm.acm.org/videos/coin-toss and the paper:

There were seven members at the meeting.

We discussed whether AI could become intelligent to the point where it was capable of deciding to hide itself... and, after a lot of discussion, we concluded (though I am not sure that everyone was convinced) that there is no evolutionary driver to push it to do this. We were quite certian that profitability was the only driver for the big AI players.

We also touched on the closing down of knowledge and loss of knowledge from small and divergent groups and cultures.
